She completed her studies in business management at the university of Siegen with a bachelor's degree with a thesis on "Sustainability in management and product development at the drugstore chain DM." She earned a Master's degree in management and marketing from the university of Wuppertal with a thesis on "Resistance against negative information - an empirical study about the influence of interpersonal relationships on the brand relations on the basis of Heider's balance theory".
