A squeeze-out is the exclusion of minority shareholders from a joint stock company by means of cash compensation. In the course of a squeeze-out, the principle shareholder assesses the appropriate sum of a compensation payment. For a number of years we have accompanied squeeze-outs in successful cooperation with the Düsseldorf-based auditing company ADKL AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft that has been appointed on numerous occasions by stock insurance companies to check the cash compensation. In the course of these projects, ADKL AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft has used the actuarial expertise of Meyerthole Siems Kohlruss (MSK). In the context of a squeeze-out, we check whether the relevant business figures have been valued appropriately. Furthermore, we check the plausibility of planning calculations for technical reserves. Typically, actuarial methods are used in these processes - for instance for valuing loss reserves and for developing insurance portfolios.
