Meyerthole Siems Kohlruss (MSK), the German actuarial specialist firm, has announced the appointment of Dr. Rolf Kuhn as a strategic consultant focused on Austria.

Kuhn is experienced in the insurance and reinsurance industry in Austria, having acted as a member of the executive board of local company Helvetia Insurance for a number of years.

“We are very proud to have won Dr. Kuhn for our company. A strategist, he knows how to turn actuarial findings into sustainable benefits,” commented MSK Managing Director Onnen Siems.

Kuhn started his career working for the Swiss Trust Company in 1976. He went on to work for the Gerling Group in Zurich as a department manager for industrial liability lines of business.
He then held a number of roles with Helvetia Insurance Switzerland, including as head of occupational and professional liability insurance, and head of non-life business insurance. Then in 1999 he was appointed to the P&C board of Helvetia Austria.

MSK has been active in Austria since 2010 and launched the first actuarial data pool in the country, covering private household, home and accident insurance.

Siems said that MSK is seeing changes in the Austrian market due to tariff classifications and hopes to match this developing trend with the actuarial firms knowledge on pricing and ability to support Austrian re/insurance market participants.
